Herman's Meat has been a Topeka tradition since the 1950's, offering quality meats at a reasonable price. The original Herman's was located at 29th and Fairlawn, but moved to its Huntoon and Gage location in 2016 to expand the size and capacity of the business to provide more to our customers. Herman’s Meat was built one relationship, one cut of meat, and one satisfied customer at a time. To this day, we strive to maintain the same hand-cut quality, the same neighborhood feel, and to expand the selection and quality that goes beyond what a grocery store meat counter can offer. The Yoder Meats Difference Here's something a lot of our customers don't know yet: Herman's is proudly connected to Yoder Meats, an award-winning meat company based in Yoder, Kansas. That connection means the sausages, brats, and ground chicken and pork in our case aren't just "in-house" — they're made by a team that has built a reputation for quality and innovation across the state. When you pick up a package of our sausage, you're getting the same craftsmanship that's earned recognition far beyond Topeka. More Than a Meat Counter Herman's has always been about more than steaks and ground beef — though we've got some of the best in town. Stop by and you'll also find: ● A full-service deli, with lunch meat and cheese sliced fresh to order ● Our famous thick-cut beef jerky, made in-house ● A rotating case of cold salads and sides — potato salad, twice-baked potatoes, baked beans, jello salads, and our popular ham salad ● Everyday favorites like ribs, brisket, pork chops, and bacon, cut and prepared with the same care we've always had Real Butcher, Real Experience Our team isn't just there to ring you up — they're there to help you get the right cut for the right meal, whether that's a weeknight dinner or a holiday centerpiece. If you're not sure what to buy or how to cook it, just ask. That's what a butcher shop is for. Come See Us Herman's Meat & Smokehouse is open Tuesday through Saturday. Stop in, meet the team, and taste the difference between a butcher shop and a meat aisle. And be sure to ask about our weekly specials — including our popular monthly ground beef sale.
